Marco Marongiu

  • Marco Marongiu is a Senior System Administrator from Sardinia, Italy. He began using Linux in 1995, and soon after he got involved in the promotion of Open Source in many ways. He had worked for several organisations in Sardinia for more than ten years before he moved to Norway in 2010, where he currently works for Opera Software ASA.

    He has an insatiable curiosity for many problems around him. Lately, he’s been working a lot on automation and system configuration management, using two well known tools. He was awarded the title of “CFEngine Champion” in 2012.

    He had his “minute of celebrity” in July 2012, when many magazines and newspapers worldwide mentioned his research on how to mitigate the effects of the leap second, and he was interviewed by WIRED.
